5 things to do in Southern California as a car enthusiast

California, with all of its outstanding smog emissions, is still a big hub for car enthusiasts. Some even call SoCal the center of automotive car culture within the US. Whether or not that’s true, here are 5 things you guys must do as a car enthusiast if you either live or plan on visiting Southern California.

  1. Cruise around PCH

We’ll start with the obvious. Nothing will beat a cruise through PCH with the ocean breeze flowing through. You can even make a stop by Malibu for some fresh catches during the lunch hours.

  1. Attend a Cars and Coffee in Orange County

Orange County has some amazing Cars and Coffee meets on Saturday mornings. And with multiple meets spread throughout the county, there are plenty to choose from. Because you’ll see everything from a Porsche 906 to a Ford Mustang to even prototype models, C&C events make for a great fusion of car cultures.

  1. The Long Beach Grand Prix!

It’s odd that there are many people out in SoCal that don’t know about this iconic race in Long Beach. When INDYCAR, Weathertech Sportscar Championship, Pirelli World Challenge, Stadium Super Trucks, and Formula Drift are all on one city track for one weekend, you know it’ll be a great experience. The fact that it takes place in April every year, when temps are usually in the 70’s, only makes it even more appealing.

  1. Hit the mountain roads

The mountains roads littered around SoCal are all great for driving. Everything from Highway 74 in Palm Springs to Angeles Crest Highway right above Los Angeles make for a great experience. Just make sure to be safe.

  1. Run the tracks

Willow Springs has multiple track days that many people can run and is just an hour to two from LA. Don’t forget about the Irwindale Drag Nights too. Go a little further and you’ll find Fontana Speedway which will host some bigger events too.
